“Learn About Six Sigma and Blended e-Learning
and Earn Your 'White Belt' Certification in One Easy Lesson!”

 

Description: 
Today’s companies are leveraging quality improvement initiatives, such as Lean Six Sigma, to deliver high-quality products and services to its customers while reducing costs, and increasing profits and customer satisfaction.

 

Blended e-learning, the seamless integration of e-learning and instructor-lead approaches, is an excellent vehicle for efficiently delivering complex subjects such as Six Sigma and Lean.

 

In this seminar attendees will learn the “what and why” of Lean Six Sigma and earn a “white belt” certificate through using a blended e-learning experience.

 

Content:
Purpose: Enable attendees to understand the basics of Lean Six Sigma through a real blended e-learning experience, and subsequently respond to their customers who need a high quality, more productive, less costly and less disruptive way to implement blended e-learning classes, especially for training in Lean Six Sigma and other courses.

 

Objectives:
1. Develop an understanding for the Lean Six Sigma philosophy, including: what is Lean Six Sigma, its benefits, use of metrics, and roles and responsibilities in the Lean Six Sigma support infrastructure.
2. Learn how to use the DMAIC process, the Six Sigma methodology, for project improvement.
3. Understand why blended e-learning is an increasingly preferred training method for individual students and corporate customers.

 

Activities:
1. E-Learning:
Prior to the pre-conference seminar, attendees will sign on and experience the e-learning course, “Introduction to Six Sigma” with a pre- and post-test.
2. Classroom:
The class session will a review and discussion of the material covered through their pre-conference e-learning.
Using paper helicopters, attendees will work through the DMAIC process steps to improve the “flight time” of the helicopters.
3. Final Discussion:
The class session will end with a discussion on blended e-learning and how it lends itself to a superior learning experience.

 

Outcomes:
1. Attendees will be able to explain the benefits of a Lean Six Sigma implementation and why it works.
2. Attendees will experience a blended e-learning course.
3. Attendees will increase their capacity to sell and support Lean Six Sigma training solutions for their customers.

 

Target Audience:
This seminar is targeted to Directors or Coordinators of Workforce Development, Corporate Education and Training, Small Business Centers, and Continuing Education. Class size: 25-50 attendees.

 

Value-added:
1. Approximately one week before the workshop attendees will receive an email from The Quality Group with instructions for logging in to a learning portal. Prior to the session, attendees will be required to complete their online work.

2. At the October 1st (Wednesday) workshop session, the speaker will conduct a 2 hour class portion of the certification. This will be followed with a one hour discussion on October 2nd (Thursday) on the blended e-learning experience, ending with a receipt of their “white belt” certificate.  Total Time 3 hours

Description of Presenter:
As the Director of Business Excellence, Diane oversees all professional services for blended e-learning solutions, customized course design and content development, helping companies to successfully implement an end-to-end blended e-learning system for optimal training results. Prior to The Quality Group, Diane worked as a consultant, trainer, and author for GOAL/QPC, a non-profit research, training, and publication organization.  She has been involved in Total Quality Management and Statistical Process Control since studying and working with Dr. W. Edwards Deming in 1980, world renowned statistician, consultant, and author. She has developed and taught courses on implementing TQM, Hoshin Planning, Project Teams and Facilitation, and Problem Solving (including the 7 Quality Control Tools, the 7 Management and Planning Tools, and the 7 Creativity Tools).

 

Diane has researched quality practices in the United States and has conducted seminars and conference presentations both nationally and internationally. She has co-authored numerous Quality improvement publications such as Sailing Through Six Sigma, 2001-2002.  She is also co-author with Michael Brassard on a series of GOAL/QPC publications, including The Memory Jogger™ II, ©1994, The Six Sigma Memory Jogger™, ©2002; The Problem Solving Memory Jogger™, 2000; The Memory Jogger™ 9000, and The Creativity Tools Memory Jogger™: A Pocket Guide to Creative Thinking, 1998, just to name a few.
